Cake Size Guide
The right cake size depends on your guest count and how the cake will be served. Some events only need smaller coffee-style slices while others require larger dessert portions. The calculator below and the size chart will let you confidently decide the exact cake size you'll need for your party.

Portion types
Coffee portions are smaller slices served when guests are mingling or eating cake alongside other food.
Dessert portions are larger slices when cake is the main dessert.
Once you know how the cake will be served, estimate the number of guests who will take cake and add a small buffer of +5 serves just in case.

Frequently asked questions
How do I know whether I need coffee portions or dessert portions?
Coffee portions are smaller slices served when cake is one of several desserts or snacks. Dessert portions are larger slices when cake is the main dessert.
Should I order extra cake?
I usually recommend allowing about +5 extra servings to cover generous cutting or guests who would like another slice.
Do all guests usually eat cake?
Not always. If a full meal is served first, fewer guests will usually take cake. For parties without a meal, more guests will want a slice.
Can you help me choose the right cake size?
Yes. If you tell me your guest count and event type, I can recommend the best cake size.
